Kinder & 3rd
Birthday buddies, now school buddies!
Most days, they can be the best of friends.
Isaiah,
You are brave. You are full of delight.
Your enthusiasm and excitement for life are refreshing and contagious.
You are strong of heart and firm in your convictions.
You are intelligent and comical - with potential to be the class clown smarty.
Your creativity and ingenuity are great gifts, and when you put your mind to it,
you have great focus and determination to complete the task before you.
Some days I'm not quite sure you are ready for this -
but when I dropped you off this morning,
you were all smiles and started shooing me out the door. :)
May God's presence be with you to guide, comfort, and help.
May your joy be a light,
may your courage be encouraging,
may your heart be strong in compassion and kindness,
may you use your knowledge to seek and speak truth,
may you grow in all of your gifts and even more so in your weaknesses
for God's glory and fame.
I love you, Isaiah. You are precious to me.
Have a great year in Kindergarten, buddy!
Zoë,
You are beautiful.
You have grown so much out of the little girl you once were and into a lovely young lady.
Sometimes it terrifies me. I don't feel ready or qualified to mother you well.
But your heart is gold.
You care so deeply about the world - people and creatures and nature.
You passionately desire to do things the right way and make things right.
You are sweet, kind and gentle with those who need help.
Don't forget to be kind to yourself.
You have the potential of a great leader.
Remember to let others lead too.
You are incredibly gifted in art and music.
Be confident in your gifts.
Your smile and laughter are delightful.
Keep laughing.
Laugh at the silly things.
Laugh at the hard things. Laugh at the mistakes.
Laugh and cry. It's ok.
Don't let anything or anyone steal your joy.
That joy is a light in the darkness.
May God give you the grace to let go of the things you cannot change or control,
but embolden you to hope and fight for change for the things that truly matter.
May God take the weight off your shoulders, knowing it is in His hands.
May God give you His peace that can eradicate your anxiety.
May you know that it is normal, even good to make mistakes and to fail sometimes.
It's what keeps you in humble dependence on God.
May you lead in this humility, by example as you follow after Jesus.
May you know God's love deeply and surely.
May you grow in your many gifts and use them for good and for God's glory.
I love you, Zoë. You are precious to me.
Have a wonderful year in 3rd grade!
